Adults are hypocrites when it comes to safe driving and laws don't seem to matter

Several recent studies have re-enforced what most of us already assumed – parent, and adults more generally, are setting a poor example and not practicing safe driving habits.

A recent Liberty Mutual Survey shows that parents are not setting appropriate safe driving examples and dads, in particular, are very distracted while driving.

Additionally, a recent Nationalwide Insurance study suggests that legislation alone will not solve the problem. "The new information in this survey also indicates that many drivers are either in denial about their DWD habits or resistant to changing their behavior," said Bill Windsor, Nationwide`s Safety Officer. "This suggests that legislation may not be enough to eliminate distracted driving and highlights the need for a technological solution that can prevent cell phone usage in moving vehicles while still allowing people to stay connected."

Further, another recent distracted driving study in New Zealand by Victoria University's School of Information Management suggests people will keep using cell phones even though safe driving laws exist in New Zealand and at least 50 countries including France, Italy, Australia.

In the UK, yet another recent survey by the Daily Telegraph reports shows that more than 50% of drivers openly admit to breaking the local safe driving laws and more than 10% admit using Twitter and other mobile internet services while driving.

Obviously, it is hard to break old driving habits.  So how do you remove the temptation and keep drivers focused on the road and not their phones?  ZoomSafer , a new safe driving solution that eliminates distractions but still keeps drivers connected with friends, family and social networks.  The first phase of the public beta jus launched and it is free to download.
