Of 24 leading companies that operate fleets, 74% either have or are planning to implement policies prohibiting the use of *all* mobile devices while driving company vehicles. Effective immediately, these drivers could face civil and criminal penalties, including fines up to $2,750, if caught violating the texting while driving prohibition. "This is an important safety step and we will be taking more to eliminate the threat of distracted driving," Secretary LaHood said in a statement released by the Department of Transportation.
